    Here's a hint. Neither are growing in my flower beds and one has no edible parts whatsoever.

    Is the pink one a mallow? I'm thinking the whitish one is a bulb-some kind of lily? But I don't know what one.

    Oh, you're getting warmer, Betsey. They're both in the Mallow family. One is edible, one is of interest to fiber folks.
